Tea made according to traditional methods in Chinas Yunnan region will apply for a place on countrys intangible heritage list. The Seven-Sibling Tea Cake, also known as Puer, is made by compressing the tea leaves using a five centuries old technique. Following in the steps of wine and cheese makers worldwide, the local authorities want the historical and cultural significance of Puer tea to be recognized and protected by the State.
